Fr. Bill Wipfler will speak about "How Can We Make a Difference" as people of faith.
Fr. Wipfler was a personal friend of Archbishop Oscar Romero and helped celebrate Mass the day prior to Romero's assassination. He is the former Director of the Caribbean and Latin American Department of the National Council of Churches (NCC) (1968-1977), the Director of the Human Rights Office of the National Council of Churches (1977-1988) and an Episcopal Priest who has served at many parishes in the United States. He is also a former missionary to the Dominican Republic, and was a leader in a nationwide effort to denounce repression and torture in Brazil, Chile, Argintina, Uruguay, and Central America.
