Parents are the first and foremost educators who plant the seeds of faith in their children long before participation in any formal catechetical program. And once in a formal religion program in a Catholic school or parish program, parents reinforce and support what is being taught.
In order to assist parents in this responsibility we've assembled a few resources:
First click HERE to view a parent letter from the Department of Lifelong Faith Formation which includes a very nice summary of the key points each child is expected to learn in grades 1 - 8.
Also be sure to check out our PARENT LOUNGE. Our parent lounge is open in the library of the school building EVERY time you drop your child off for formation classes. In the lounge, we will have a variety of print resources available to support and strengthen Catholic families. One of my favorites is a series called Catholic Spirituality for Adults. Study guides can be found on the website HERE, and the corresponding books can be checked out from our library.
