7th Sunday of Easter

We celebrated First Holy Communion at Annunciation. The girls and boys made key and cross rings. On the one side of the paper key each boy and girl wrote his/her name and on the other side were the words: "Jesus is the key to eternal life." The children told me how they come to know Jesus -- by praying at home and at church, by coming to Mass, by reading the Bible and by receiving Jesus -- his Body and Blood -- in Holy Communion. I told them that they also come to know Jesus by being kind and good. When we do something kind to another person we do it to Jesus himself. We are all given the mission to come to know/receive Jesus -- because Jesus is the key to eternal life.
