Blessed Trinity

Moses speaks to the people about the wonderful and frightening things God does for them. Moses exhorts the people to know and to fix in their hearts the memory and mystery of God. This “knowing” is always done as a community -- at home and in the assembly. Jesus in the Gospel according to St. Matthew bids his disciples goodbye as the Risen Lord at a mountain in Galilee. Jesus commissions them to baptize (using words pointing to the mystery of God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and to teach all that Jesus commanded them to do. We receive that same commission to treasure, to live and to share our faith. It begins in the home with prayer and conversations about God. “Keeping God in our hearts” occurs at liturgy when we assemble with children actively participating e.g. greeting, reading, taking up the collection, bringing up the gifts and singing. “Knowing the mystery of God” is the intention of our religious education programs. You can see the art work/drawings of some of our children hanging on the walls of the church. Youth Faith Formation is much more than memorizing articles of faith. It is a lifelong journey of discovering “God with us” in Jesus until the end of time. Now, I invite Melissa Weisenburg, Director of Youth Faith Formation, and Meghan Dandrea, Associate Director, to give you an update and to express our appreciation for your support.
